Afro Asian Cup
Due to prevailing conditions in India, The
Confederation of African Tennis (CAT)
has requested the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) to postpone the Afro Asian Cup to the first quarter of next year. The President ATF has agreed to the demand and the event stands postponed . Fresh Dates will be intimated in consultation with CAT.
Inconvieniance caused is highly regretted.

The Asia/Oceania boys and girls qualifying for the World Junior Tennis competition were held at Kuching, Malaysia
from 11–16 May 2009. 16 teams each competed for 4 available spots each in the finals to be held at Prostejov from 3-8 Aug 09

Asia/Oceania Pre‐Qualifying - JDC, JFC, WJC
Asia/Oceania Pre‐Qualifying event for the Junior Davis Cup & Junior Fed Cup, as well as the World Junior Tennis
Competition for boys and girls was held in Yangon, Myanmar from 2-9 March 2009. It was the first time in the region
that a Pre‐Qualifying event was held in all age categories for boys and girls.
(UZB, PAK & MYA) and (MAS, KAZ & SRI) advance to the qualifying event of the Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup
respectively. In the World Junior Tennis Competitions – in the boys category - MYA, SIN & SRI and in the girls
category - MYA, SIN & SRI moved on to the Asia/ Oceania qualifying event.

Junior Davis Cup Team - Uzbekistan

Junior Fed Cup Team - JAPAN
The Asia/Oceania final qualifying event for Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup was held in Shepparton, Australia from 15 – 20 April 2009. 16 boys’ and girls’ teams each contested for four spots in the Finals, which is to be held in
September in San Luis Potosi.
Third seeds Uzbekistan defeated top seeds Korea to win the
boys’ event, with both teams qualifying for the Junior Davis
Cup Finals. The semifinalists India and Australia also qualified. In the girls’ event, top seeds Japan defeated Australia in the final to
secure their spot in the Junior Fed Cup Finals, where they will be joined
by semifinalists China P.R. and Indonesia. Australia becomes the only
country from the region to be represented in both events at the 16 &
under finals.
